Rejected By Men, Honoured by God | 1 Peter 2:4-10
Contrary to the commonly held view that identity is determined by actions, the Apostle Peter offers a profoundly different perspective. According to Peter, early Christians were encouraged to remain obedient and joyful because of their new identity in Christ Jesus despite the difficult challenges they were facing. This new identity, received upon coming to Christ for salvation, was intended to influence their outlook and behaviour. In this study we learn that because God has shown us mercy, giving us a new identity and privileges, we must live for His purposes and praises.

- Proclaim God’s excellencies (vv. 9-10)
- Don’t be indifferent toward Jesus, the Rock (vv. 6-7)
