Redeemed in Christ | Ephesians 1:7-10

In Paul’s carefully crafted heartfelt expression of praise to God, the first blessing he exalts God for is the fact that believers are chosen in God before the foundation of the world. In v. 7 the thought structure abruptly changes from the blessings of election past, to praising God for our present redemption and its effects, both now and  into the future when the times will have reached their fulfillment and God brings all things in heaven and on earth together under the one head, Christ. In this lesson we learn that redemption means release from slavery by the payment of Christ’s blood, according to His grace, now and forever.
