The Grace of Reconciliation | Genesis 45:1-28
In a burst of unrestrainable emotion, Joseph revealed his identity to his brothers and allayed their fears of reprisal by assuring them that it was God’s sovereign purpose in sending him to Egypt to preserve for them a remnant of God’s chosen people on earth. In an act of remarkable grace, Joseph, with Pharaoh’s affirmation, provided for the family and instructed his brothers to bring his father to Egypt. Jacob, upon hearing the news that Joseph was alive, was revived in spirit. In this study we learn that reconciliation comes when we recognise God’s sovereign rule over all evil and forgive in light of His wisdom and mercy.
