The Human Condition
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 3:23
God’s Gracious Love
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
God’s Adoptive Process
But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. John 1:12
The Believer’s Obligation
I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. Roman 12: 1-2
Our Security in Christ
For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39
God’s Eternal Provision
For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.” John 6:40
Of course there are hundreds of other great Bible verses that have become favourites of many. How about adding yours?

David
John 3:16 is a very special verse for me, as God used its words to speak to my heart at the time I became a Christian. Every time I re-read the words I’m reminded of that most important day in my life.

David, this is the most famous summary of the gospel in the Bible.
It explains what happened to make it possible for someone to have eternal life. It expresses God’s love for the world and it shows us the extent of that love by sending his one and only Son. And it promises eternal life for those that personally trust in him.
What an incredible verse! Praise be to God!

How crucial it is to have a deep understanding of our depravity before our holy God thus humbling us to acknowledge our DAILY need for the sacrifice Jesus made for all of us. The Gospel or good news Jesus brings to us is something we need every day, not just at that point of becoming a Christian. We need the grace of God every day because through Jesus’ sacrifice alone are we made holy before God. Rom 3:23 and John 3:16 highlight the combined truth that we deserve eternal punishment yet in His amazing grace and mercy upon us, God chose to give us the free gift of eternal salvation through Jesus Christ so that we may not perish.
Rom 5:9 “Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God.”
But let us not forget that although our salvation is a free gift in that we can not earn it or do ANYTHING to deserve it (Eph 2:8-9), it cost God so much in sacrificing His Son. We have been bought at a HUGE price (1Cor 6:20, 7:23). If Christian’s know this then how can they not strive to offer their bodies as living sacrifices holy and pleasing to God through Jesus Christ (Rom12:1, 1Peter 2:5, Eph2:10). Let us never forget what it cost God to save us and strive to honour Him in all we do, say and think. We dare not strive for less!
Phil 2:12-13 “…work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good and pleasure.”

Having logged onto the HBC website I could not but help to taken by the beauty of the the front page photo (Great Ocean Road) but more so by the bible passage that I was greeted with. John 8:31-32 “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
Don, as you rightly say, there are many great Bible verses that are dear to us and as with David, remind us of a moment in time. I’m just glad that I can see something new and meaningful in a verse that I’ve heard or read many times over.
That’s the amazing power of God’s Word, it never tires or ceases to impress!

Don,
Great selection of bible vesus and pronouncements for us to reflect on daily!
If I was to add more passage of scipture to the list it would be something that communicates the preeminence and superiority of Christ Jesus as ONLY He can bring us ALL to Glory through his unchangable perfection.
He is the only one qualified through the greatness of his sacrifice in perfect submission to the Fathers will. His is our compassionate High Priest, the author of our eternal salvation.
It’s awesome to be enlightened to God’s infallible purpose in Christ and to know that in ALL things he understands our human condition. He understands EVERY aspect of our struggles and weaknesses when he to took on flesh and allowed himself to be tempted.
Christ Jesus mediates for us continually, presenting us perfect to the Father..
There is NO greater love than this!
Hebrews 1:1-3, 2:9,14

Great point Eugene. It’s so reassurring to rememeber that we have a High Priest and Saviour who understands the daily struggels we are going through, as He went through them Himself.
It gives me a lot of hope. Given Jesus understands our struggels, He is better able to help us through them through the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank God we are not left to our own devices to walk in obedience to Him!!!

To Wally: You are right – God reveals Himself in nature as well as in His Word. Romans 1:20 tells us that the entire natural world bears witness to God through its beauty, complexity, design, and usefulness. His marvelous creations speaks to us daily of His majesty and power.
To Eugene: Your comment that only Christ Jesus can bring us ALL to Glory through his unchangable perfection, triggered this thinking in response.
God sent his Son to solve our dilemma. “God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).
Jesus Christ made the way to God for us by his death on the Cross. He purchased our salvation by the shedding of his blood. His death and resurrection made a new and everlasting covenant between God and humanity.
Jesus told his disciples, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). He did not merely point the way to God. He himself claimed to be the only way to the Father and the source of eternal truth and life.
The way to God is through personal faith in Jesus Christ. Intellectual acceptance of Christ is not enough. You must come to him determined to turn from what displeases him, with a total trust in Christ’s saving power for you.
Christ promises those who turn to him: “Whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed from death to life” (John 5:24).
