The Necessity of the Gospel | Matthew 13:24-30, 36-43
The good news of salvation can only be fully understood and appreciated when placed in the context of judgement. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Without the gospel all people would be destined for Hell and eternal judgement under the wrath of God. Judgement is an unpleasant reality, and so people have often tried to minimise or ‘soften’ the doctrine to make it more ‘palatable’. We need to declare the full counsel of God, including this truth which Jesus spoke so much about, and to do so with both boldness and with compassion.
