Rejoice! You See What Angels Don’t | 1 Peter 1:10-12

Rejoice! You See What Angels Don’t | 1 Peter 1:10-12

Peter addresses scattered groups of Christians facing considerable suffering and persecution. After reminding them of the security of their salvation and future inheritance, Peter strengthens and encourages faith and joy by explaining to them the divine purposes of their suffering and future glory it will bring. If this is not enough, he then tells them that this grace is the very salvation promised and anticipated by the prophets and desired to be understood by the angels. In this study we learn that we can endure and rejoice in present suffering knowing the greatness of our salvation has secured future glory.
  1. Christ anticipated our salvation (v. 11b)
  2. Prophets longed to understand our salvation (vv. 10-12a)
  3. Angels currently long to comprehend our salvation (v. 12c)
  4. The Holy Spirit continues to delight in proclaiming salvation (v. 12b)
