Jacob’s Blessings – Part 1: The One Whom God Exalts | Genesis 49:1-12
In blessing his sons, Jacob foretold what would befall each of them and their descendants in the latter days. He disqualified Reuben for the birthright because of his uncontrolled passions and he disqualified Simeon and Levi because of their uncontrolled violence. But he gave kingship to Judah which ultimately points to Jesus Christ, the preeminent Lion of Judah, who humbled Himself to death and is now exalted as King. The main lesson from this message is that God exalts those who humble themselves and humbles those who exalt themselves.
