Is My Faith Worth the Cost | Genesis 25:1-18

Is My Faith Worth the Cost | Genesis 25:1-18

As we close out the life of Abraham we see a man who remains steadfast in his faith in God’s promises to be fulfilled through Isaac. Therefore, before he died, Abraham ensured that the covenantal blessing would belong to Isaac by sending away his concubine’s sons; after he died, the Lord confirmed this decision by blessing Isaac. In this study we learn that a life of faith is worth the cost because such people live and die under the pleasure and abundant blessing of God.

  1. Those who live by faith are called the FRIENDS of God (2 Chr 20:7; Isa 41:8; Jam 2:23)
  2. Those who live by faith will remain FAITHFUL to the end (vv. 1-6)
  3. Those who live by faith die FULL (vv.7-10)
  4. Those who live by faith perpetuate God’s FAMILY (v. 11)
  5. Those who live by faith are eternally separated from those who don’t (vv. 8, 17)
