We live in a highly sexualized age where the Biblical view of sexuality and marriage has been redefined and distorted. The results to marriages and families have been tragic, deeply scaring the lives of children and individuals. Like every aspect of life, the Bible calls us to a different view of our sexuality; one that calls us into both boundaries and freedom. God has designed the boundary of marriage to be that place where the full freedom and liberation of our sexuality is enjoyed, experienced, and protected. Ray Ortlund said it well, “Our sexuality is like a fire; in the fireplace it keeps us warm; outside the fireplace it burns the house down.” In this lesson we learn that God’s design for our sexuality finds perfect fulfillment and protection within the boundaries of marriage.
