How to Endure Unjust Suffering | 1 Peter 2:18-25

How to Endure Unjust Suffering | 1 Peter 2:18-25

Unjust suffering is arguably the hardest kind of suffering to endure. Peter here informs believers that they should not only expect unjust suffering when they do good but to embrace it since it is to actually follow in the footsteps of the Lord Jesus. When believers do this, they can find strength in Christ and be confident of God’s commendation. In this study we learn that Christians are to expect unjust suffering as they follow in the footsteps of Jesus while avoiding sinful responses by entrusting themselves to God.
  1. Suffering unjustly is the Christian’s calling (vv. 18-21a)
  2. Christ’s suffering helps our suffering (vv. 21b-25)
  3. How to thrive under suffering? (vv. 19, 23)
