God’s Hard Preparation Continues | Genesis 40
God had given Joseph two dreams (Chapter 37) which foretold of his rise to power whereby he would be positioned to save his family from famine. However, this rise would be preceded by a long and arduous preparation. In this chapter we find that when Pharoah’s cupbearer and baker had disturbing dreams in prison, Joseph accurately foretold the cupbearer’s restoration and the baker’s execution, but his request to be remembered was quickly forgotten. In this study we learn that God uses delays and difficulties to mould and prepare His people for greater service.
