God of the Nations | Genesis 10
From Shem, Ham and Japheth descended all the nations of the world in their lands and according to their languages. Among these were the Canaanite tribes, who occupied the land of Canaan, and the eastern powers, who derived from Nimrod of the Hamitic line, which Israel were called by God to overthrow after their release from bondage in Egypt. The list of names and nations shows God’s rule and reign over the nations then and the nations now. In this lesson we learn that knowing that God sovereignly rules and pursues the nations must cause us to live in perpetual peace and to persevere in our witness.
