Enjoy Christ’s Day | Genesis 2:1-3
While Israel was told to rest on the seventh day and keep it holy as a covenant sign with God, is it obliged upon Christians to treat Sunday, the Lord’s Day, in a similar manner, whereby we are to cease from work and leisure? What might be some restrictions we should put in place? This is the topic of our study this week. We will explore what the Bible tells us about the Lord’s Day and determine how to treat it. In this lesson we learn that since we have found our Sabbath rest in Christ, through the redemption by His blood, we have been freed from Sabbath obligations and freed to worship God on the Lord’s Day.
- Christ freed us from Sabbath obligations
- Christ claimed the Lord’s Day for Himself
- Christ gave the Lord’s Day as a gift to His people
