Deception for Blessing | Genesis 26:34 – 38:9
In response to Isaac deliberately conspiring to bless his eldest son Esau, in opposition to the will of God, the younger son Jacob, with the assistance of his mother, Rebekah, deceptively obtained the blessing by impersonating his brother. This act provoked intense anger in Esau, who received a minor blessing and subsequently planned to kill Jacob. In response Jacob fled to his uncle’s home in Paddan-aram to escape Esau and find a suitable wife. In this lesson we learn that failure to be faithful always leads to loss, even if you get what you wanted.
