Blessed to be a Blessing | Psalm 67
The Psalmist asks for God’s grace, blessing and favour to be upon His people, so the surrounding nations would know they served the one true God of Heaven and come to know Him themselves. The author found joy in the fact that God judged the earth with equity and governed the nations. Also, he was reassured that in the end God would bring about a harvest of souls through the blessings flowing from Him, through His people, to the nations. In this lesson we learn that our gladness in God is the intended fuel to make us an outward-orientated, missional people, for the gladness of the nations.
Prayer 1: We would RECEIVE God’s blessings so the world would RECEIVE God’s salvation (vv. 1-2)
Prayer 2: Through us the nations would REJOICE in God’s rule (vv. 3-5)
Prayer 3: In our missional endeavours we would REST in God’s promises (vv. 6-7)
