Hope In Certainties In Times Of Uncertainties

Hope In Certainties In Times Of Uncertainties

Hope In Certainties In Times Of Uncertainties

I am literally not wanting to read or see the news these days. In Australia, we are just barely coming out of the COVID situation with a new normal but now there is the news of the invasion of Ukraine and the massive flooding happening on the East Coast of Australia. Undeniably, there is just seemingly much chaos and what is certain is the uncertainties we can face each year, each month or even each day.

Yet, we Christians have certainties which we have and are to hold to. We have certainty in our God because of who He is. Besides our God being Holy, Sovereign, good, loving, merciful, true (and so much more), He is immutable – unchanging. We can be certain of His Word (Scripture) given to us. We can be certain of His promises because of His Son, Christ Jesus’ incarnation, death and resurrection. And we are certain of the hope we have, through Christ, of a new Kingdom and eternal life with our Father in Heaven.

If you are feeling fearful, lost, downtrodden or uncertain, look into the word of God and to Christ to find the certainties of hope mentioned above. Pray and find your peace, direction, joy and certainty In Christ. Do remember too that Jesus Christ is not only the hope you have but He is the hope that the world needs. In such a time as this, many people around you are likely feeling a sense of uncertainty or hopelessness. Would you who have the certainties and hope found in Christ point them to Him and share the gospel message (good news) to those around you? Our faith is built on the certainty of what we hope for. Hebrews 11:1 state:

Now Faith is assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

Let us pray for many opportunities to be witnesses of the faith and hope we have in our Lord Jesus Christ. Let us

Have no fear of them, nor be troubled, but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you;” (1 Peter 3:14-15)

My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness
No merit of my own I claim
But wholly trust in Jesus’ name

On Christ the solid rock I stand
All other ground is sinking sand
All other ground is sinking sand

When darkness veils his lovely face
I rest on His unchanging grace
In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil

His oath, his covenant, his blood
Supports me in the ‘whelming flood
When all around my soul gives way
He then is all my hope and stay

On Christ the solid rock I stand
All other ground is sinking sand
All other ground is sinking sand

When He shall come with trumpet sound
Oh may I then in Him be found
Dressed in his righteousness alone
Faultless to stand before the throne

On Christ the solid rock I stand
All other ground is sinking sand
All other ground is sinking sand
