So, you think you’re a good person?

Mark Sayers is one of the most insightful Christian writers and bloggers on culture and Christianity. He is also a Melbournian; Box Hill no less. On his old blog site (his new blog can be found here), he writes:

“Throughout most of history our actions have been an indicator of our character, but today we wish to maintain a pristine character whilst doing what  ever we want. Such a belief is deeply linked to self-esteem; the belief that we are all inherently good no matter what we do, that what is important is not moral integrity, but the health of your self esteem.

Such a view is radically at odds with scripture . . .”
