Your Most Important Prayer (Part 2) | Ephesians 1:19-23
Paul continues his prayer for believers, asking God specifically that they would come to experientially know “the immeasurable greatness of his power toward” them (v. 19). To help them grasp the nature of this power toward them Paul presents God’s power as displayed through the resurrection, exaltation, and dominion of Christ (vv. 20-22) over sin, death, and all authorities. This power in the believer brings glory to Christ by resisting evil forces to live a Christ-honouring life over sin and Satan. In this lesson we learn that God wants us to know by experience His immeasurable power that raised Christ from the dead and exalted Him over all so that we may display Him to the world.
Truth 1: God’s immeasurable power has been unleashed upon you (v. 19a)
Truth 2: God’s power toward you is demonstrated in Christ’s resurrection, exaltation, and dominion (vv. 20-22)
Truth 3: The resurrected Christ fills the church with power to fulfil His work (v. 23)
