The Flood (Part 2) | Genesis 8

The Flood (Part 2) | Genesis 8

The Flood (Part 2) | Genesis 8

Because the race was corrupt and filled with violence, the Lord destroyed it and its world with a devastating flood but used Noah, his righteous servant, to save creation and establish a new order after the judgement of the flood. God did this by commanding Noah to build an ark to house his family and two of every kind of animal. Noah obeyed God in everything and worshipped God as his first act after the flood. Noah sets the pattern for the people God saves and those that please Him. In this study we learn that the Lord saves the righteous from catastrophic judgement in order to establish a worshipping community.

  • The Lord remembers His people (v. 1a)
  • Because the Lord remembers his people:
    1. we can wait patiently (vv. 1b-15)
    2. we can obey confidently (vv. 16-19)
    3. we must worship gratefully (vv. 20-22)
