Sola Fida: The Rediscovered Treasure of the Reformation | Romans 3:19-31

The Reformation is one of those key events in history that changes the course of history forever. Prior to the Reformation the Bible had been cloistered within the church, kept from the laity, and replaced by church dogma and papal authority. As a result the free gospel of salvation was lost and replaced by a blend of faith and works. From this vacuum Martin Luther rediscovered the authority of Scripture which led to the rediscovery of Sola Fida, justification by faith alone. In this study we learn that sinners are made right with God through faith in Christ and His finished work alone, leading to humility, unity and obedience.

  1. Every person has wilfully rebelled against God (Rom 3:9-18)
  2. No one is justified by law keeping (Rom 3:19-20)
  3. God provides the righteousness we need through Christ (Rom 3:21-26)
