Enter Christ’s Rest | Genesis 2:1-3
After six days of forming and filling and creating the heavens and the earth God ceased from His work, having completed it, and found satisfaction in it. As a result God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, set apart for Him. The significance of the seventh day regained prominence as later God commanded the newly established nation of Israel to keep it holy for Him as a sign of His covenant with them. It also acted as a shadow of the spiritual rest that Christ later came to deliver to all people. In this study we learn that because Christ worked to save us, we do not need to work to save ourselves, but can enter His perfect rest to know God and enjoy Him forever by faith.
